Cassette Recordings represents the earliest audio work from the Fossil Aerosol Mining Project, recorded and mixed on 4-track cassette decks during the mid-late 1980s. What was to become a 25+ year recording project began with the discovery of a fragment of damaged 35mm film in an abandoned Drive-In theater. Clipped from a circa 1980 Italian zombie movie, the relic was found amongst the debris of a well-mildewed projection booth. Audio from this artifact was used used in a number of recordings, some of which are included here. Nine tracks were remixed or remastered in 1995. The decay of faked decay.
